In dual-grade classrooms, students from two consecutive grade levels learn together in one classroom. This approach allows older students to reinforce their understanding by mentoring younger peers, while younger students benefit from learning alongside older role models. Teachers design lessons that cater to a range of abilities and use flexible groupings to ensure personalized support for each child. This collaborative environment fosters teamwork, empathy, and leadership skills among students.

Mosaic Learning Academy is exploring an extended school day (7:30 am–4:30 pm) to provide additional time for core academics, enrichment activities, and real-time academic support. This extended day would ensure that students receive all necessary help and complete their work during school hours, eliminating the need for homework or after-school tutoring. How do you feel about this extended school day model, and what benefits or concerns do you foresee?

I support the extended school day because it provides more time for learning and support during school hours. I support the extended school day but have concerns about the length and its impact on my child’s energy or focus. I prefer the traditional school day and feel homework and after-school tutoring are important for reinforcing learning. I have concerns about the extended school day but would be open to considering it if more information is provided.
